This is Thief

Thief UI

Thief is a stand-alone polyphonic subtractive synthesizer. It has dual oscillators with a variety of waveforms, and a filter with many different implementations. There's plenty of opportunities for modulation with three envelopes and three polyphonic LFOs, one of which goes up to 1300Hz. There's also a sequencer and an arpeggiator and a delay/echo effect for post-processing.

Thief is also open-source. It's written in Java and the sources are available on bitbucket. It's powered by the Frequencies audio engine, which powers all Bandit-works synthesizers.

To run it, you have a few options. You can build it from source, or launch it straight from an executable jar. Both of these require Java 16 to be installed. The simplest way, however, is likely to use one of the installers, which doesn't require Java:

While it is possible for Thief to run headless, it doesn't by default.
